chupalang

this weekend has been great, food wise.
came home on friday to a warm pot of sharks' fin winter melon soup (with old cucumber and chicken bone) waiting for me, along with dishes of mushroom with tofu, snapper, and broccoli with the perfect crunch.
moo also made carrot cake after a sunday and a half of buying ingredients (i need cinnamon powder! no not five spice right? i need what?? SIX cups of carrot??), and it turned out awesome.
like, store-bought awesome. she bought cream cheese spread instead of cream cheese for baking, but cheese is cheese, and when combined with sugar, it still made yummy frosting ^^

saturday saw mum making aglio olio cause it was the simplest. and on sunday, with the leftover pasta (because i refused to eat the thick beehoon), i threw some premade sauce in, lemon juice, some cream cheese and topped it off with the bolognese herbs.
mmm.
don't know what it could be called, but it's just, you know, a mix.
mum also saw a crisis with her excess buying of potatoes (last week bought 3 potatoes, and i bought 4 today!) and carrots (aiyoh, bought 5 carrots for the cake and had 3 from last week, i only used 4). what can potatoes and carrots be used for?
pumpkin soup of course.
we had a cut of pumpkin, and also an unripe opened avocado we knew not what to do with.
so in it went into the pumpkin soup.
it was done, and louis suggested adding lemon juice. so i did, with a little carnation milk.
tastes little like the first time we ever made pumpkin soup, but it's still great. subtle avocado-ey flavour, only used half for the whole pot. a little tangy, barely creamy..

mm where am i going to eat these kind of "gourmet" in hall?

hahaha side note, penang! i've never flown a plane alone before, i hope i don't get lost even before i exit the airport. please Lord let me come out of the right immigration exit.
