concentra-distrac-tions

context: it's dinner time. mum is cooking a lot of different dishes for dinner. we have one stove.
my brother, cheong, and i are both in front of our laptops doing different things.
i am trying to read summaries of judith butler's gender trouble, and michel foucualt's history of sexuality volume 1, and i assume cheong is playing a game or watching videos. nothing serious, pure entertainment.

the difference:
ME
-saunters into the kitchen
-is the X cooked yet? ooh tau kau *takes some*
-saunters back into my room. eats.
- kitchen again. mushrooms! *takes some* is the X cooked yet? "soon", says mum
-laptop. eats.
-next comes the vegetables. more tau kua!
-laptop. eats.
-kitchen. soup.
-laptop.
-kitchen. "peanuts are super nice! second helping please"
-laptop.
-"ju! wanton cooked already" "orh"
-kitchen. wanton.
-elder bro takes some food. looks at my plate. dumps mushrooms on it.
-my room. nomz. finished.

CHEONG
-laptop
-laptop
-laptop
-"luis i take your food for you ah" "orh"
-laptop. eats without tasting. slowly.
-many minutes later.. "luis wan ton cooked alr" "huh i havent finished my food" "okay later ah"
-laptop
-many minutes later... "luis kuai dian chi ah"

so basically i think i'm supposed to have cheong's attitude to what i'm looking at. that i'm so serious in reading food comes second place.
BUT HOW?
